Understanding the ESOS Act and National Code 2018 Seminar
9am - 12.30pm
Understanding the ESOS Act and National Code 2018 will cover:
- All Standards of the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018;
- Relevant parts of the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000; and
- An overview of the recently implemented Education Services for Overseas Students Regulations 2019.
This seminar will provide context to the National Code, best practice guidelines for the Standards as well as exercises to work through common scenarios relating to international students studying onshore.
This seminar is targeted for staff working in Academia, Admissions, Marketing and Student Services within Schools, ELICOS, VET, and Higher Education providers.
The ESOS seminar will be from 9am - 12.30pm. Morning tea and refreshments will be provided.
All attendees will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance to demonstrate their ongoing Professional Development in international education.

National Code 2018 Case-Study Workshop
1.30pm - 4.30pm
In the afternoon, CRG will be presenting the National Code 2018 Case-Study Workshop, which follows on from the morning session. This session will focus on case studies in International Education compliance, with in-depth discussions on all Standards of the National Code 2018 and how they work day-to-day.
This session is for those working day-to-day with international students, particularly those working in Student Services and Compliance.
The Case-Study Workshop will be from 1.30pm - 4.30pm. Afternoon tea and refreshments will be provided.
All attendees will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance to demonstrate their ongoing Professional Development in international education.

Meet the Presenter, Natalie Tierney
Natalie Tierney has been in various compliance and policy roles during her career, with a focus on international education compliance. Natalie has also worked as a Regulatory Officer with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and an Immigration Officer at the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) within the student compliance and student visa branches. Natalie has recently been appointed a member of the TEQSA Register of Experts. A detailed summary of Natalie’s career can be found on her LinkedIn profile.
Natalie established Capital Review Group in July 2016 to provide specialist compliance consultancy services for various pieces of legislation and regulations within the education sector in Australia. Her clients include Universities, Higher Education providers, VET colleges, Schools and ELICOS providers.
